dipsomania
poetry
you promised me
your sobriety
with a chuckle
as you brought
the bottle to
your lips and
drank until
you forgot.

Wisteria
short story
What’s your favorite memory?
It’s a simple question, really, that most people don’t sit and ponder for longer than a minute. Everyone I’ve ever met immediately answers with something like “when I got my cat,” or “My 13th birthday party!” or even “the time my boyfriend told me I was pretty,” and so forth. Personally, I avoid anyone who replies with the last one, because all their attention goes to that boy, but that’s off topic, isn’t it?

Drive to Write
poetry
I don’t think I can write poems anymore
As soon as I try I just get bored
There’s nothing tying me down and making me write so I chose the easy way out and called it a night
Good night to the times when I couldn’t choose between cutting myself or writing down my news
This isn’t a bad thing- just a complication
But it keeps getting bigger, like multiplication
I’m holding on to what little drive I have left, but I’ll use it all here to make this one my best
I’m not signing off, I dont think im done yet
I WANT to keep writing, I love it to death
It’s been 4 months since i sat down and wrote
And wrote and wrote till my hand almost broke
I missed this feeling of absolute control
But if I like it so much, where did it go?
Artist’s Statement: It’s been a while since i wrote a poem so this one is about how i doubt my abilities.

Once Upon A Time
short story
“Once upon a time…”
The familiar voice whispered the simple start to every little adventure. Her southern drawl slowed them down into a sweet, lazy sound. The effect left them as soft and gentle as the reader.
I brought myself onto my side to face the images decorating the story’s pages, simple and resembling a bright stained glass window. The picture of a girl in a blue crown waved out to me from the pages. My eyes shifted from the girl to the reader. Continue reading

America Land of the Free
poetry
America
Land of the free
The land that made you and me
The red, white, and blue
Who enjoy a good old fashioned barbeque
Where McDonald’s is the go to
But that is the portrait the government
Paints and portrays to you
In a lot of cases it’s do or die
And everytime I look around
I get chills and butterflies Continue reading
